I started my trip in Lima, Peru due to the low flight prices. Few photos from the city.
After few days I took the bus to Cusco, where I planed to take one week Spanish course at the school Fairplay.
I stayed in a home stay. Here the woman in my family.
And the house.
Plaza de Armaz in the middle of Cusco
A trip to the zoo with one of my teachers, Marianelis and her 2 girls.
Afterwards it was time to see Machu Picchu. On the way I visited Sacred valley.
Playing with some puppies in Ollantaytambo
A view on the way
And finally I made it to Machu Picchu.
After 2 weeks I went to Bolivia
Here passing Lake Titicaca
And a church in Copacabana
And some water
Then I was in La Paz, the capital of Bolivia in 4000 meters. I went to meat Miguel and started working the same week. We take the car from La Paz, go through El Alto (neighbour city as big as La Paz and grown together) and then we go out on the countryside where the resaerch center is, called Quipaquipani. It normally take 1-2 hours each way.
Evening photo of La Paz from El Alto the first day at work.
Here I'm throwing with with potatoes... or actually I'm doing a traditional Aymara ritual. In the area the local farmers are mostly indigenous people speaking Aymara (but also Spanish)
What's for lunch? They have so many different varieties here in Bolivia.
I am quite tall in this country!
The view from my apartment at 15th floor. I live with a lady Loly.
Also from my window but with a zoom :)
Lunchtime at Quipaquipani
My field :) Okay, not so interesting yet. I'm doing a project on fertilizers and quinoa.
My field again, this time with me.
We have puppies so I just love this place :)
Then Christmas got closer and we had a party at PROINPA
Off course with a lot of dancing!
Two happy colleagues
For New Year I went to Paraguay to meet up with my friend Laura, from Finland. At the hostel.
Laura and I at the cinema
Then we went to Iguazu in Argentina
And here I am
There were so many different butterflies everywhere
And other animals.
Here a mini alligator.
And Iguazu again, so beautiful!
Laura eating, but with a nice background
Back at my quinoa field after the holiday. Now they are bigger :)
Some of my colleagues
At the marked in El Alto
And the view over La Paz
At the zoo, nice park!
Valle de la Luna near La Paz
One weekend in January I went to an Aymara party in the small village Caquiaviri. Was a great experience!
The church
In the afternoon they were doing a dance parade. So great, with lots of colors.
The bulls, also a part of the event.
On a trip to Lake Titicaca
With the owner of the little hostel I stayed at.
Isla del Sol
Old Inca terrace fields could be found everywhere.
Some of the Inca ruins at the island.
Inka path with sheeps. Does this island remind you a bit about Scotland or is it just me?
And me again
A little girl saying hola.
Was my birthday the other day, Hurrah for me :)
And that was it for now :)
